Thomas A. McCleer

Mr. Thomas Augusta McCleer, 78, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 4th, at Porter Funeral Home with Mr. Alan Krajewski officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Tom was born May 14, 1945, in Arkansas.   He worked in construction all of his life, and was blessed to be able to travel all over the United States with his work. Tom was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the water pursuing his hobby.  Tom loved his family and loved spending time with them.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Margaret McCleer; his parents, Gus and Lorene McCleer; and a brother, Frank McCleer. 

He is survived by a daughter, Tina L. (George) Cooley of Byhalia, MS; two sons, Thomas A. McCleer of Lake Cormorant, MS, and James A. McCleer of Hernando, MS; two sisters, Pat Witten of Pelzer, SC, and Loretta Peery of Summerville, SC; a brother, Rick McCleer of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.   

Pallbearers will be Thomas Reed, Michael Hill, Cully McCleer, Zander Reed, Mark McCleer, and Matt McCleer.
