Mr. Silas Wesley Miles, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at his home in Brandon, MS. Private family services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 20th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Laird officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Miles was born April 29, 1941, in Louisville, MS. He was a longtime Brandon resident and owned and operated United Die Mold, Inc. in Jackson, MS, until his retirement. Silas loved crappie fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Cleo Miles and Dorothy Edwards Miles; and his wife, Nadean Eaves Miles. He is survived by his son, Randy K. (Wendy) Miles of Brandon, MS; and a daughter, ReDana Miles (Benjamin) Laird of Meridian, MS; three brothers, Sammy (Gail) Miles, Steven Miles, and Stanley Miles; six grandchildren, Lindsey Miles (Russ) Warren, Rachel Laird, Sarah Laird (Caleb) Brownlee, Abigail Laird, Daniel Miles, and Benjamin Joseph “B.J.” Laird; and four great grandchildren, Rilee Rush, Rex Warren, Jett Warren, and Dallas Brownlee. Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Mayo, Alan Miles, Caleb Brownlee, Michael Miles, Randy Miles, and Ben Laird.
