Mrs. Ruth Johnson Fulton, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Willow Cottage at the Winston County Nursing Home. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18th, at Rocky Hill Methodist Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Potter officiating. Ruth was born July 2, 1926, in Louisville, MS, to Walter Marvin and Lois Lancaster Johnson. She was a graduate of Millsaps College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in education and history. She taught elementary and high school for many years in Louisville, Noxapater, and Nanih Waiya, as well as Gainesville, FL. She founded the kindergarten at First United Methodist Church in Louisville. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Louisville Garden Club, and Rocky Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Fulton, Sr.; a sister, Maryanna Johnson, and a brother, Walter Marvin Johnson, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Joanna (Jerry) Lousteau of New Orleans, LA; and a son, William Fulton, Jr. of Astoria, NY.
