Mike Ellis

Mr. John Michael “Mike” Ellis, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 1st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs and Mr. Charles Bond officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.   Mike was born August 18, 1936, in Louisville, MS.   He was a graduate of Louisville High School, and retired after 45 years as head of Research and Development for Taylor Machine Works. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp, and was a long-time volunteer with the Louisville Fire Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Libby Ellis; his parents, Rose Lee and John Henry Ellis; and a sister, Rosemary Woodward. Mike is survived by his daughter, Patri Ellis of Louisville; his son, Michael, (Sheila) Ellis of Grenada, MS; and two grandchildren, Craven Ellis and Anaizabel Goodin Ellis.   Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church, P.
