Mrs. Mavis Goldman Addkison, 93, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2019, at the Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 27th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Heath Hillman officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mars Hill Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mavis was born January 3, 1926, in Neshoba County, MS, to Icey Kelly Goldman and Floyd Goldman. She was a line worker at TRW, and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edgar Burkes and Quinton Addkison; one daughter, Betty Parkes; three brothers, Fred Cuevas Goldman, Willard Goldman, Archie Goldman; and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Ray) Ingram of Louisville, MS; one son, Billy (Sherry) Burkes of Sardis, MS; two sisters, Marie Myers of Noxapater, MS, and Waldine Nowell of McCool, MS; six grandchildren, Carol (John) Clark, Tracey (Bobby) Baker, Tonya (Brad) Burkett, Bill Parkes, Ashley (Mitchell) Rogers, and Tiffany Burkes; and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Christopher Baker, John Clark, Clarence Goodin, Brad Burkett, and Cameron Clark. Memorials may be made to the Mars Hill Cemetery Fund.
