Mrs. Marjorie Barnhill Hudson, 95, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at her home in Louisville. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 12th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Heath Hillman officiating. Mrs. Hudson was born September 22, 1925, in Louisville, MS, the daughter of Grady and Inez Ming Barnhill. She was a graduate of Louisville High School. She worked for several years at Tabor Drugs, and was the executive assistant at Spartus for many years, until her retirement. Marjorie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday school and many of the church’s activities. She was also a member and very active in various civic organizations over the years, including the Order of the Eastern Star. One of Marjorie’s most enjoyable experiences was serving as Housemother to the Sigma Chi fraternity at Mississippi State University for several years. As so many people did, the fraternity members loved Marjorie and stayed in touch with her long after she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Hudson; and a sister, Maxine McNeil. She is survived by a daughter, Daphne Kent of Louisville; grandchildren, Heath Hudson and Heather Hudson; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Mabry. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
