Mrs. Lila Quinn Kitchens, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at her home in Starkville, MS. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2nd, at Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, MS, with Rev. Brian James Thrasher and Rev. Brandon Frazier officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Sunrise Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Kitchens was born August 15, 1936, in Noxapater, Ms. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Cox Street Pentecostal Church. She and her husband, James W. Kitchens lost their home in the tornado that passed through Louisville in 2014, and then moved to Starkville to be near their children. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kitchens; her parents, James Robert and Emma Quinn; two sisters, Earlene Howard and Betty Jackson; and three brothers, Robert Commodore Quinn, Bob Quinn, and Jim Quinn. She is survived by two daughters, Debra Kitchens (Boyd) Thrasher and Anita Kitchens Howard, both of Starkville, MS; four grandchildren, William (Michelle) Thrasher, Jr., Brian (Kristy) Thrasher, Toni Howard, and Michelle Starns; five great grandchildren, Joseph Boyd Thrasher, William A. Thrasher, Shanna Thrasher, Conner Thrasher, and Reagan Thrasher; one great great grandchild Gunner Smith; five sisters, Ida Mae Dickerson , Ora Lee Dickerson, Louise Hamilton, Minnie McKee, and Bessie Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be William Thrasher, Sr., William Thrasher, Jr., Brian J. Thrasher, William A. Thrasher, Toni Howard, and Roy Dickerson. Memorials may be made to the Sunrise Cemetery Fund.
