Mr. Kenny Joe Hanna, 73, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 13th , at Coye Assembly of God in Preston, MS, with Rev. Ryan Farmer and Dr. Jon Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Dec. 12th, at Porter Funeral Home; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Vernon Assembly of God Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.                                           Kenny Joe was born November 18, 1945, in Winston County, MS.   He was a graduate of Lincoln Park High School in Michigan, and East Central Community College. He retired after over 30 years as a technician with AT&T. He enjoyed hosting a Men’s Fellowship Group at his home every month. Kenny Joe was active in the community, having served for over 20 years on the Louisville School board; and was currently the groundskeeper for the Nanih Waiya Park. He was a member of Coye Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Hanna; and his father, Kenneth Hanna. He is survived by two sons, Tate (Deedra) Hanna of Louisville, and Trent (Mary Katherine) Hanna of Union, MS; his mother, Mavis Robertson Hanna of Louisville; a sister, Anne (Ricky) Peterson of Louisville; and six grandchildren,   Zach Hanna, Lane Hanna, Kenny Ray Hanna, Landrey Hanna, T. J. Hanna, and Layton Hanna. Pallbearers will be Lee Robertson, Chris Moody, Lucas Nowell, Jeb Stewart, Mike Robertson, David Frey, Joey Copeland, and Randy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his Men’s Fellowship Group. Memorials may be made to the Gideons.
