Mrs. Frances “Kay” Eaves, 79, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Oak Cottage at the Winston County Hospital in Louisville. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 1st, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Heath Hillman officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Eaves was born August 30, 1940, in Jackson, MS, to Inez and Stanley Leon Polk. She graduated from California Baptist University and was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Stanley Polk, who ministered at churches from Mississippi to California. Kay had a love for music from the age of five, and participated in her parent’s church ministry by playing the piano. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she played the piano for her Sunday school department. She is survived by her husband, G. Jyles Eaves of Louisville, MS; her son, Stanley (Cheryl) Orr of Honolulu, HI; her step-daughter, Juanita (Steve) Kennedy of Ridgeland, MS; and her three grandchildren, Hazel Orr, Keely Kennedy, and Keaton Kennedy. Pallbearers will be members of the Adult 5 Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Music Program.
