Joyce Ann Johnson

Mrs. Joyce Weeks Johnson, age 91, passed away at her residence on Friday, September 11, 2020. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 14th, at Betheden Lutheran Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Joyce was born in Louisville on June 27, 1929, to Minnie Lee and Horace Weeks. She graduated from Louisville High School and married her loving husband, Bill Johnson. She continued her education at Mississippi State University where she earned her Specialist Degree in Business Education. She was an active member of First Methodist Church in Louisville until her health began to decline. Joyce was a member of the Winston County UDC, the Winston County Garden Club, a Master Gardner, and the Friends of Legion State Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Johnson, her father, Horace F. Weeks, her mother, Minnie Lee Weeks, and her brother, Horace Franklin Weeks, Jr. She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Johnson (Diane), her daughter, Billie Joy Tucker (Jeff); her grandchildren, Alex Harrell (Elizabeth), Joy Johnson, Bill Johnson (Heather), Brian Johnson (Lenuh), Chelsea Baldini, Lisa Baldini, Molley Foster (Nathaniel) and Shea Withers (Bobby). She was proud to be Mawmaw to her 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital.
