Mr. John Mack Long, 62, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at John C. Stennis Memorial Hospital in DeKalb, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 23rd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vernon Methodist Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. John was born October 9, 1956, in Laurel, MS. He was a graduate of Louisville High School and owner of Warrior Archery Shop. John loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and baseball. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Long. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Boydstun Long of Louisville; two sons, John Adam Long and Tanner Long, both of Louisville; his mother, Libby Gordon of Louisville; two sisters, Cynthia Collier and Sherry Conn of Louisville; a brother, Howard Long of Louisville; and three grandchildren, Tristan Long, Hayden Long, and Ledi Jaimes Long, and his mother-in-law, Shelby Jean Boydstun. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
