Joe Smith

Mr. William Joe Smith, son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away from this life Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at his home on Campground Road, Winston County, MS, after a brief illness A graveside service and interment will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, June 16th, at Campground Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Joe was born and raised in the Campground community, the son of Martin and Dolly Smith. Joe traveled the country pipelining and seeing sights others may only dream of. His friendship network was vast. He would do anything he could for his friends and family and expect nothing in return. He is survived by his two sons, and daughters-in-law, Tim and Lisa Smith and Marty and Gina Smith; grandson, Tyler Martin Smith; great-granddaughter, Sara Carmen Smith; brothers, Jerry (Becky) Smith and Scotty Smith, and special friend, Judy Burkhalter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue York Smith; son, Samuel Ashley Smith; granddaughter, Carmen Elizabeth Smith; parents, Martin and Dolly Smith; and grandparents, Charles and Vera Stanley Gladden. Pallbearers will be Isaac Triplett, Butch Burns, Wells Burns, and Matt Smith.
