Mrs. Gay Woodward Edwards, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Bee Hive Home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 15th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gay was born August 25, 1932, in Louisville, MS. She graduated from Louisville High School and worked as a bank teller at Citizen’s Bank for 42 years. After retirement from the bank, she worked as secretary and hostess at Porter Funeral Home. She was a past Worthy Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of First Methodist Church of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Edwards; her parents, Ersel and G. Q. Woodward; and a sister, Marsha Woodward Lawless. Gay loved her family dearly and is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Bob) Jordan of Kosciusko, MS; a son, Kerry (Beth) Edwards of Louisville, MS; a sister, Peggy Crawford of Louisville; a brother, Don (Becky) Woodward of Sutton, WV; four grandchildren, Kim Pitts, Brad Hathorn, Kyla Sanford, and Calen Edwards; and eight great grandchildren, Bradyn Eaves, Ashlyn Eaves, Luke Pitts, Tyler Pitts, Lawson Hathorn, Landon Hathorn, Wells Sanford, and Asher Hathorn. Pallbearers will be Barry Pitts, Brad Hathorn, Luke Pitts, Calen Edwards, Lawson Hathorn, Landon Hathorn, Wells Sanford, Asher Hathorn, and Al Porter.
