Dorothy Stewart Hailey

Mrs. Dorothy Hailey, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Dorothy was born September 26, 1933, in Winston County, MS, to James Thomas and Grace Alewine Stewart. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Education. She taught school in Lynville, Prince Chapel, Macon, Bond in Neshoba County. She was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Murray Hailey, Sr.; and two sons, Howard Murray “Pete” Hailey, II, and Carroll Wyatt Hailey. She is survived by a daughter, Janie Hailey (Bill) Tarlton of Preston, MS; three sisters, Eudene Shaw of Meridian, MS, Joyce Crowson of Willow Spring, NC, and Glenda (Sterling) Davis of Louisville; and five grandchildren, Thomas Murray Tarlton, William McCrory "Bo" Tarlton, Wyatt Wade Tarlton, Charlie Hailey Tarlton, and Hailey Rebekah Tarlton. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA, 71103. Funeral Homes have been advised to keep visitations, funerals, and memorial services to the smallest gathering of immediate family members only. Please keep these families in your prayers. and may God bless us all. ONLY 10 PERSONS MAY ATTEND, BASED ON GOVERNOR'S ORDER. In lieu of this, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
