Mr. James David Swain, 76, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 19th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. David was born October 28, 1942 in Jackson, MS to Julian Bailey and Laverne Horne Swain. He was a 1961 graduate of Noxapater High School. For many years he owned his own electronics repair business in downtown Louisville. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, woodworking, genealogy research, and teaching himself to play the dulcimer and guitar. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Whitmire Swain of Louisville, MS; three sons, Craig (Carol) Swain of Noxapater, MS, Adam (Marie) Swain of Louisville, MS, and Jason (Jayme) Swain of Macon, GA; his four grandchildren, Jon (Katie) Swain of Fayetteville, AR, Ashton Swain of Louisville, MS, Lenora and Luke Swain of Macon, GA; three sisters, Betty Moore of Sturgis, MS, Gloria Ming of Meridian, MS, and Vivian Tennenbaum of Daly City, CA; and one sister-in-law Marzene Whitmire of Louisville, MS. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Michael David Swain, and one brother, Julian Bailey Swain, Jr. Pallbearers will be Dickie Caperton, Scot Bryan, Wayne Whitmire, Johnny Triplett, Kenneth Whitmire, Lamar Horne, Bennett Wilson, and David Wilson.
