Mrs. Delores Christine Hatcher, 75, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at her home in Louisville surrounded by her family and loved ones. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 31st, at Evergreen Cemetery, with Bro. Mason Joy officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hatcher was born October 20, 1945, in Louisville, to Cecile Starks Smith and Beal C. Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Louisville, and was a graduate of Louisville High School in 1964. After working at Sparta, Winston Academy, and Louisville Public Schools for a time, Christine dedicated herself to caring for her family and helping to raise her two grandsons. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church and played a vital role in running the church kitchen, and planning meals “to feed all of Winston County” according to Bro. Mason. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers at her home. Appreciating the beauty of nature, Christine was always more happy outside rather than indoors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dewayne; her parents; a son, Eddie Hatcher; and a brother, Beau Smith. She is survived by her sons, Joe Hatcher and David Hatcher; a daughter, Kitty Loraine Hatcher, all of Louisville; her sisters, Shirley Baxter of Louisville, and Dot Castleberry of Quanah, TX; two grandchildren, Roegon Cecile Hatcher and Ryker James Hatcher; and a sister-in-law, Betty Smith of Quanah, TX.
