Mrs. Charlotte Ruth Byrd, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at her home in Madison, Mississippi surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Byrd was born on February 12, 1940, in Lennox, Tennessee to Jack and Ruth Keen. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee during her high school years. She was a graduate of Treadwell High School. She worked at Graham Heights Academy until it closed in 1984. She attended church at Louisville church of Christ in Louisville, Mississippi. She and her late husband were volunteers at Enid Lake Campground where a lot of wonderful memories were made with her family. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, fishing, and watching western movies. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Roy Byrd of 62 years, and her special companion who kept her company during the day, Lilly.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Billy) Conn of Madison, Mississippi, and Cathy (Troy) Davidson, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; Four grandchildren, Casey (Frankie) Thompson of Brandon, Mississippi, Trent Davidson of Memphis Tennessee, Taylor (Autumn) Conn of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Trevor (Christine) Davidson of Memphis, Tennessee; Six great-grandchildren, Peyton and Addison Davidson, Willow Grace and William Conn, Roman Thompson and Baby Thompson due to arrive in March of 2025.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Conn, Taylor Conn, Frankie Thompson, Troy Davidson, Jr., Trent Davidson, and Trevor Davidson.
The family would like to offer our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers, especially those at St. Dominic’s Hospital, MEA Medical Clinic, Noxubee County General Hospital and Arden Hospice.
Visitation will be on August 31, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi with a graveside service to follow officiated by Bro. Billy Conn at Conn Family Cemetery on Yellow Creek Road.
