Mr. Bobby Vernice Stokes of Pineville, Louisiana, passed away on May 16, 2022 at the age of 87 from a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Bobby was born on November 8, 1934, in Noxapater, Mississippi. He was known to be an avid classic car enthusiast and collector. He loved God and dedicated his later years to praying for and ministering to the sick. Bobby was predeceased by his parents Vernice and Myrtis Miles Stokes, son, Murray Stokes, and two brothers, Steve D. Stokes and Donaver Stokes. He is survived by his wife, Lilliam, and his sister, Arneta Moon. He leaves his children, daughter Beverly Foster (husband Bennett), granddaughter Erin Mallette, Murray Stokes (deceased), grandson Kane and Samantha Stokes, Suzette Rene Jacobs (husband Richard), grandson Elijah Cole Jacobs, Brenda Dranguet (husband Dean), granddaughters Julie Moree, Audrey Copeland, Bobby Stokes (wife Angela), grandchildren Taylor Stokes, Shelby Stokes, Sara Cooper, Bethanie Herrick (husband James), grandchildren Amanda Litton, Adam Chelette, Joseph Poulin, Jonathan Poulin, Regina Stokes Teekell (husband Jon), Brian Stokes (Pilar), grandchildren Isabel, Ricardo, Bobby, Liliana, Brian; great grandchildren Emma, Justin, Kaiden, Colt, Ella Kate, Josiah, Luke, Jolie, Eli, Noah, Josie Belle, Jac, Gabriel, Jacob, Kien, Brielle. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends. An interesting fact: there are 23 living paternal 1st cousins from the Stokes family and 7 living maternal 1st cousins from the Myles side. Grandfather Stokes had two marriages that resulted in 17 children. Each of these children's first names started with a V. These were the parents of the numerous cousins that he enjoyed throughout his life. Graveside service (only) is going to be at 12:30 pm on Friday, May 20th, at Vernon Assembly of God Church, Louisville, Mississippi.
