Mrs. Betty Lou Crowell, 77, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 22nd, at Murphy Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Mark Mayo and Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Visitation will be at Murphy Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Crowell was born October 24, 1942, in Louisville, MS, to Eunice and Coy Stevenson. She was a graduate of Nanih Waiya High School, a homemaker, and a faithful member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Crowell; and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Kim Higgason and her husband, Neal; two beloved granddaughters, Bethany Higgason and Kara Higgason; a sister, Shirley (Billy) Strait; a brother, Willie Earl (Dorothy) Stevenson; and a brother-in-law, Johnny (Claire) Crowell. Pallbearers will be Arnie Strait, William Strait, Justin Strait, Ben Jackson, Dacey Ferguson, and Rusty Foster, Memorials may be made to Murphy Creek Baptist Church.
