Mrs. Archie Ree Sullivan, 98, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Hickory Cottage at the Winston County Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 7th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sullivan was born on November 7, 1923, in Winston County, MS. She married her husband, Selby K. Sullivan, on March 15, 1942, and they enjoyed almost 70 years of marriage, until his death in 2012. Archie Ree was a homemaker and excellent seamstress and sewed for the public. She loved cooking and enjoyed sharing with friends and family, especially all of sweets at Christmas. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Selby; her parents, Alvin and Alma Whitehead; her daughters, Terressa Ward and Alma Jolene Sullivan; her siblings, Mildred Irine Rogers, Edgar A. Whitehead, Jesse W. Whitehead, Uriah Z. Whitehead, Josie Elizabeth Breazeale, and Dewane Z. Whitehead; and a nephew, Truitt Breazeale. She is survived by two grandchildren, Josh Ward and Jolie Eaves; her son-in-law, Danny Ward; three great grandchildren, Chandler Foster, Dawson Eaves, and Hayze Eaves; and her special nephews, Paul Breazeale and Sherill Breazeale. Pallbearers will be Wade Breazeale, Wes Breazeale, Jonathan Breazeale, David Gookin, Chandler Foster, and Jonathan Eaves. Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Cemetery Fund.
