IAnn McGowin, 88, of Louisville, MS, moved to her heavenly home on February 7, 2025 at Bedford Care- Monroe Hall, Hattiesburg, MS. Born on October 26, 1936, in Philadelphia, MS, Ann lived a devoted life of love and dedication to her family and friends.
Ann and her family resided in Greenville for more than forty years where they enjoyed being members of Trinity Methodist Church. Ann and Jamie moved to Louisville, MS to be closer to their grandchildren and lived there for more than 20 years. She was an active member at First Methodist Church. She spent the last 5 years of her life at the Aldersgate Retirement Community in Meridian, MS where she enjoyed living among many new friends. Her faith and her service to others were testimony to her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jamie, and her brother William Horlock of Atlanta, GA.
Ann is survived by her sons, Jim of San Antonio, TX and David (Paula) of Ellisville, MS. Her grandchildren are Matt (Amanda) McGowin of Flowood, MS and Mallory (Joe) Parker of Pelahatchie, MS. Her great grandchildren are Wesley McGowin, Maggie McGowin, Claire McGowin, Chase Parker, Tuff Parker and Jax Parker. She was affectionately known as Nanny Annie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Cook’s Chapel Cemetery outside of Philadelphia, MS on Thursday, February 13th. Visitation will be at 1:30 and the service will follow at 2:00.
Reverand Kenneth Owens will officiate the service. Arrangements are being handled by Porter Funeral Home of Louisville, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ellisville First Methodist Church-David’s Purse, a ministry for those with emergency needs.
