Ann Ball Mayo, born May 16, 1931 in Louisville, Mississippi died peacefully on December 11 at Beehive Homes of Philadelphia, Mississippi where she had been a resident since 2016. Visitation will be on Saturday December 14 from 10 until 12 with a service to follow at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. The family will have a private burial service at Shiloh Baptist Church in Louisville, Mississippi. Ann was born in Louisville, Mississippi and spent her entire life in Louisville. She was married to Hubert Edward Mayo, who died in 2006. Ann was the loving mother to two sons; Ray Hayes (Kathy) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Edward Mayo (Tonya) of Louisville Mississippi. She had four grandchildren; Nicholas Hayes of Nashville, Tennessee, Sarah Yellen (Abe) of Austin, Texas, Dalton Mayo and Camille Mayo of Louisville, Mississippi and one great grandchild, Owen Hayes of Lubbock, Texas. She is survived by one sister; Delores Horton Glazier of Madison, Mississippi and one brother, Buddy Ball (Frances) of Louisville, Mississippi. Nannie, as she was known by her family, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making cakes and pies for her family and friends and hosting holiday “dinners” in her home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and cooking. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Louisville.
