Mrs. Anita Hindman Deweese, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Windsor Place in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Friday, November 13th, from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Charles Rook officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Anita was born March 28, 1932, in Meridian, MS, to William Martin and Mary Earline Northam. She earned her degree in nursing from Meridian Community College, and worked as a RN for many years at Tri-County Nursing Home and Winston County Nursing Home. She was a member of Singleton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Bob Hindman and Herschal Deweese; and a brother, Jack Northam. She is survived by three daughters, Becky (Mike) Carr and Lisa Garretson, both of Louisville, and Bobbie Faye (Steve) Payne of Senatobia, MS; two sons, Michael Lane (Betty) Hindman of Jackson, MS, and Daniel Lee (Brenda)) Hindman of Vidor, TX; a brother, Robert Northam of Meridian, MS; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brandon Garretson, Bud Carr, Hunter Payne, Caleb Hall, Brady Hall, Cody Hall, and Cash Fulcher. Memorials may be made to Singleton Baptist Church.
