Mr. Olyn L. Houston, 86, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Nov. 7th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Painter officiating. Interment will be in Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Houston was born September 28, 1924, in Winston County, MS. He was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II, and was a retired welder at Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn Houston. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Smith Houston; four daughters, Roslyn Collins of Trussville, AL, Rhonda Hurt of Jacksonville, FL, Rebekah Reed of Charlotte, NC, and Ramona Green of Starkville, MS; two brothers, Theodore Houston and Otis Houston, both of Louisville, MS; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Mike Fuller, Perry Hemphill, Larry Hemphill, Stanley Eaves, Larry Cockrell, Edward Stokes,and Johnny Eaves. Honorary pallbearers are Leroy Fulcher, John Moorehead, Ted Eaves, Gary Hill, and Steve Jernigan. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn, the American Kidney Foundation, and the American Diabetes Foundation.
