Issac Joshua Smith

Mr. Issac Joshua Smith, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 17th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith was born February 13, 1931, in Winston County, MS. He worked for many years as a millwright at Great Lakes Steel in Michigan. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Smith; his parents, Vera Alice and Luther Graham Smith; and a son, Michael J. Smith. He is survived by two grandchildren, Michael Joseph Smith and Anthony Joshua Smith; and one great grandchild, Laila Lynn Smith; and a sister, Mildred Johnson. Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Anthony Smith, Steve Skaggs, Randy Eaves, and Stan Hathorn. Memorials may be made to the Murphy Creek Cemetery Fund.
