Diane Hodges

January 24, 1944 — November 23, 2017

Mrs. Diane McCullouch Wallace Hodges was called to her eternal home on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 25th, at Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Visitation will be in the Chapel beginning at 12 Noon. A graveside service will follow at Bethsalem Presbyterian Church Cemetery near High Point, MS. Diane was born in Louisville on January 24, 1944, to Murry “Blue” McCullouch and Elizabeth Hansard McCullouch. She was a 1962 graduate of Louisville High School where she was an honor roll student, member of the school newspaper staff and a lover of any and all accounting courses. Accounting would follow her throughout her career; first in the U.S. Navy, then in other governmental agencies as well as in retail positions. While in the Navy she met and married Bob Wallace, also in the Navy. They spent their life mainly in California with tours in Spain and Hawaii. After retirement, Diane and Bob moved to Louisville to live in her family home. Bob passed away soon after. Ever energetic, Diane went to work for the U.S. Forest Service. There she was known for her exacting attention to detail, her warm greeting to patrons and her willingness to do whatever it took to accomplish any task. In 2010, she and Randy Hodges were married in the Biloxi Lighthouse by Brother Keith Dendy, beloved former Pastor of East Louisville Baptist Church where they were both members. They courageously survived the loss of their home during the 2014 tornado, rebuilt and moved forward. Their life together was focused on gardening, preserving and canning the fruits of their labor, traveling and enjoying neighbors. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Wallace and her brother Edward “Bo” McCullouch. She is survived by her husband Randy, her daughter Debbie Wallace Jobin and grandsons Parker and Jesse all of Corona, California, her sister Reba Greer of Oxford and her brother John McCullouch of Ridgeland. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Kia Nash and Gloria Austin for their compassionate care during the final days of Diane’s lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To sign the guestbook, please go to www.porterfuneralhome.net.
