July 19, 1922 — November 4, 2017

Mrs. Imogene Caney Fair, 95, died November 4, 2017, at her residence at Danberry at Inverness in Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12:00 noon at First Presbyterian Church in Louisville, MS, with Dr. Bob Schwanebeck officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born on July 19, 1922 in Cooperstown, New York to Madelon Lawerence and Robert Caney, Jen, as she was called, grew up in Gardiner, Maine. She attended La Salle college in Boston, Ma after which she was employed by MIT as well as the YMCA in secretarial positions. Jen met her husband, Davis Love Fair, Jr. while he was stationed in Boston in the United States Army Air Corps. They were married at the Little Church Around the Corner in New York City on August 28, 1946 and honeymooned at Niagara Falls. Davis and Jen settled in Louisville, Davis' hometown, and began a long beautiful life together. Jen had a deep faith and was active in the Louisville Presbyterian Church. she was also involved with the Fortnightly club, Belle Arts club and a supporter of the Winston County Library. Jen and Davis also contributed to scholarships for Louisville High School students attending the University of Mississippi. Most of all, Jen took great pleasure in everything to do with making a wonderful home for Davis and their three children. She was dedicated, devoted and loving. Survivors include her daughters Madelon Fair Cotton (James) of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Fair McIntyre (Raymond) Of Naples, Florida,, son Davis Love Fair III (Anne) of Oxford, MS, grandchildren, Davis Love Fair IV (Maggie), Allison Fair Chambliss (Baker), Andrew Caney Fair (Carolyn), Belle Fair Graves, James B. Graves (Mollie) and 8 great grandchildren.
