Mrs. Marilyn Jean Thomas, 64, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at her home in Noxapater, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 20th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Thomas was born on May 7, 1953, in Noxubee County, MS. She was a security guard at Georgia Pacific, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Noxapater. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rachel Earline Skinner Chambers and Fred Lee Chambers; and three sisters, Mary Frances Richardson, Margie Grice, and Marion Drewery. She is survived by her husband John “J.W.” Thomas; three sons, Wren Allen Thomas, John Anthony (Denita) Thomas, and Freddy (Amy) Thomas, all of Noxapater; one daughter, Tywona Lynn (Bobby) Martin of Flowood, MS; two sisters, Margaret Kringlen and Martha Woods, both of Louisville; one brother, Marvin Chambers of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
