Mrs. Melva Crowson Pearson, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Louisville Healthcare in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 16th, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Childs and Rev. Andy Pearson officiating. Visitation will be fron 1:00 P.M. until the service time at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pearson was born November 13, 1931 in Choctaw County. She was a public health nurse employed by the Winston County Health Department for many years, and a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association. Melva was very involved in the North Mississippi Emmaus community, as well as being an active member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Moss Crowson and Earl Crowson; one brother, Bob Crowson; and one sister, Ardena Johnston. She is survived by her husband, Billy Dean Pearson of Louisville, MS; three sons, Andy (Sally) Pearson of Starkville, MS, Phil (Mary) Pearson of West Point, MS, and Chuck (Penny) Pearson of West Point, MS; one brother, Joe Crowson of Louisville, MS; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Cody Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Charles Pearson, Reed Pearson, John Pearson, Jonathan Stoll, and Nick Hester.
