Mary Jane Files

Ms. Mary Jane Files, 93, died Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Pine Cottage at Winston Medical Center. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 4th, funeral services will follow at 12:00 at Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Paul officiating. Interment be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jane was born June 25, 1924, the daughter of Mary Leticia Ellis and Bester Montgomery Files. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and was a retired legal secretary. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Bester M. Files, Jr. Jane is survived by many cousins and friends. Jane was a gracious and gifted lady, interested in the lives of young people and the life of her church and community. She was especially knowledgeable about Louisville’s residential architecture and the history of local families. Pallbearers will be Ron Woodruff, Don Thompson, Neil Snow, Gabe Snow.
