Marian Saums

Mrs. Marian Hamilton Saums, 93, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Louisville Healthcare in Louisville, MS. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday, May 16th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Saums was born September 30, 1923, in Rocky Ford, GA. She spent her early years in Jackson, MS, and after her marriage to Alf Saums, they moved to Louisville in 1966, for Alf’s work with Georgia Pacific. Marian worked for Taylor Machine Works and Hughes Construction for many years, and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alf Saums; a daughter, Kathy Sacia; a sister, Martha Hines; and three brothers, Francis Jake Hamilton, Morris Hamilton, and Gene Hamilton. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Saums Young of Louisville; and two grandchildren, Lauren Young and Mark Young. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
