Mr. Reggie Ellis, 73, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, May 1st, at Poplar Flat Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Peeples officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Reggie was born December 7, 1943, in Louisville, MS. He graduated from Louisville High School, and was an electrician for Triplett Electric. He owned and operated Ellis Heating and Air for many years, and for the past 25 years he owned and operated Ellis Short Stop. Reggie served in the Army National Guard, was the former president of the LHS Band Boosters Club, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maudine Smith Ellis and Norris Ellis; and two brothers, Charles Dennis Ellis and Bobby Gerald Ellis. Reggie is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hendrix Ellis of Louisville, MS; his daughter, Melody (Mitch) Basey of Brandon, MS; his son, Chip (Alicia) Ellis of Carriere, MS; and five grandchildren, Tyler Ellis, Kaylee Ellis, Jayden Ellis, Kyle Ellis, and Serenity Basey.
