Mr. Henry Clifton Johnston, 86, died Friday, June 10, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 13th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Baptist Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Johnston was born July 23, 1929, in Oktibbeha County County, MS. He was a retired maintenance mechanic, a Mason, and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Trice Johnston; his parents, Louisa Cummins Johnston and James Edward Johnston, Sr.; five brothers, J.E. Johnston, Dud Johnston, Earnest Johnston, Grady Johnston, and Mike Johnston; and one sister, Bobbie Davidson. He is survived by two daughters, Marian “Sissie” (Allen) Watts of Louisville, MS, and Bettye (Roy) Pool of Bryan, TX; two sons, Buddy (Judy) Johnston and Roger (Donna) Johnston, both of Starkville, MS; one sister, Mattye (Glenn) Beard of Nacogdoches, TX; 10 grandchildren, Wesley Kennard, Marla Kennard, Dee Mazingo, Monica Schoggin, Kandi Walker, Krystan Hamilton, Gabriel Watts, Eric Watts, Corey Watts, and Wendi Graham; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
