Mrs. Sally Hill Chappell, 100, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P. M. on Friday, May 27th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Halfacre and Mr. Steve Quinn officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sally was born in Winston County on October 16, 1915, to Robert A. and Lucy Ming Hill. She was a lifelong resident of Louisville. Besides owning Chappell Hill Farms with her husband, Roy, she established Sally’s Cleaners in 1964. She was widely known as a skilled seamstress, prolific gardener, and a successful business woman, having been honored as the Business and Professional Women of Achievement. She mentored countless young Bible students at First Baptist Church, worked tirelessly on community projects, and volunteered at the Winston County Hospital and Nursing Home. She never stopped being an ambassador for God during her 100 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy A. Chappell; and being the only girl in the family, was preceded in death by six brothers: Gerald, Guy, Graham, Grady, Gilbert, and Garvin; and also two grandsons, Tom Causey and Chris Sullivan. She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Causey of Louisville, Faye Sullivan of Atlanta, GA, and Jo (Blon) Harris of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Teri Causey Garofalo, Scott Causey, John Harris, Ryan Harris, and Sally Sullivan Nicodemus; and great grandchildren, Clair Causey, Chappell Causey Garofalo, Chase Causey, Charlotte Causey, Luke Nicodemus, Sarah Mac Nicodemus, Llewellyn Sullivan, Emma Harris, Lily Harris, and Phillip Sullivan. Pallbearers will be Tom Nicodemus, John Harris, Ryan Harris, Rob Eaves, Chappell Garofalo, and Louis Garofalo. Memorials may be made to First Apostolic Church, 115 E. John C.
