Modean Moore

Modean Sellers Moore, 93, died peacefully on April 9, 2016, at Roseleaf Care Facility in Chico, CA. She was born on August 5, 1922 in Louisville, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Guy Jack Sellers and Triphenia Reed Sellers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Webster Wilson “Bill” Moore, a daughter, Beverly Moore Martin, a son, Michael Wilson Moore, and her sisters and brothers—Maggie Lee Haggard, Minnie Mae Eaves, Eunice Eaves, Avis Hill, Mavis Wright, Gwen Burrell, Marvine Kelley, Audrey Sellers, and Guy Rand Sellers. She is survived by two loving daughters, Linda Moore Finley of Brentwood, CA, and Charlotte Moore Stolberg of New Orleans, LA; her loving grandchildren, James Hugh Finley, Jr. of Brentwood, CA., Beth Finley Boyer of Chico, CA., Allison Grant Pierson of New Orleans, LA., Seth Michael Martin of San Antonio, TX., Sean Michael Moore of Mandeville, LA., and Ryan Matthew Moore of Mandeville, LA.,; and her loving great-grandchildren, James Zachary Finley of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Cameron Boyer and Kennedy Boyer of Chico, CA, Avery Pierson and Margeaux Pierson of New Orleans, LA., and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service at Porter Funeral Home with burial at Ellison Ridge Baptist Church will be announced at a later date. Her favorite farewell to those she loved: “May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.”
