Mrs. Mildred Smith Bethany, 96, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at her home in Louisville surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 25th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Mizell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bethany was born August 24, 1919, in Brooksville, MS. She was a retired nursing aide. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Children's Department for many years. She is still known by many as "Mimi". She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Bethany and her parents, Mary Ester and Charlie Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Ann (Jewell) Brumfield of Bogalusa, LA; a son, Billy (Cynthia) Bethany of Louisville, MS; three grandchildren, Bruce (Michelle) Brumfield, Brian Brumfield, and Brigitte Ann (Ken) Sheridan; five great grandchildren, Brittaney, Paige, Peyton, Olivia, and Madelyn Brumfield; and two great great grandchildren, Isabella and Theresa Allen. Pallbearers will be George Sheridan, Randy Hodges, John Wright, Ricky Wright, James Coward, and Troy Coward, Jr. Memorials may be made to Quality Hospice Volunteer Fund, P. O.
