Mr. Curtis Lee Griffin, 71, died Monday, November 9, 2015, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, TN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 14th, at Porter Funeral Home, with his son, Bro. John Curtis Griffin and Rev. Phil Fancher officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Sontag, MS. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Griffin was born August 27, 1944, in Philadelphia, MS. He was the building and grounds supervisor for the Forest Products Lab at Mississippi State University, and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Lee Partridge Griffin and Ira Curtis Griffin; and a nephew, Howard Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Mahaffey Griffin of Sturgis, MS; his son, John (Deborah) Griffin of Silver Creek, MS; one sister, Elizabeth (Ken) Bailey of Pearl, MS; one brother, Reuben Andrew (Judy) Griffin of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren, Carrie Beth Griffin, Melanie Griffin, and Curtis Griffin; one nephew, Steve (Denise) Griffin; one niece, Lee (Ashley) Shutze; his late nephew’s widow, Karen Griffin; and several great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Oswalt, Larry Cockrell, Don Parish, Ashley Shutze, Steve Griffin, and Ken Bailey.
