Mr. Cordell Douglas Langley, 73, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday September 9, 2015, at his home in Ackerman, MS. Mr. Langley was born April 21, 1942 in Winston County, the only son of Leonard L. Langley and Winnie Ruth Wylie. Cordell was employed with the U.S. Tombigbee National Forest Service in Choctaw County, MS for 25 years. He was a faithful member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and Grand Lodge of Mississippi F. & A.M. Mr. Langley’s interests included deer and squirrel hunting, fishing and camping, along with being talented in wood working and guitar. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Murphy Langley of Ackerman; son Lee (Casey) Langley of Louisville; and his pride and joy, grandson Emmett James Langley. Funeral services will be held at Gum Branch Baptist Church on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Friends may call at 12:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Choctaw County.
