Mr. Hubert Hayes Rhodes, 87, died Saturday, August 23, 2015, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 25th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rhodes was born February 16, 1928, in Louisville, MS. He was a graduate of Sturgis High School, and served with the U. S. Coast Guard in the World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Betheden Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elva Horton and Homer Rhodes; two sisters, Louise Patterson and Lula Mae McKay; and three brothers, Harvey Rhodes, Horace Rhodes, and Charles Rhodes. He is survived by a sister, Hazel Smith of Sturgis, MS; a brother, Jimmy Rhodes of Brighton, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Winston Strong Disaster Relief Fund, P. O.
