Mr. Francis Rudolph “Rudy” Daly, 88, died Monday, August 17, 205, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 20th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Augustine Palimattam officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, and Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the service time at the church. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Rudy was born September 27, 1926, in Neshoba County, MS. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, and then went on to Mississippi State University, where he played football on scholarship and received a business degree. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Rudy worked in Birmingham, AL for many years with Southern Natural Gas Co., before moving to Louisville where he owned Daly Hardware Store. He and his wife, Martha, then worked with Spartus Corp until his retirement. They were avid Mississippi State Bulldog fans and rarely missed a football game, home and away. Rudy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served as Parish Council president for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Woodward Daly; and his parents, Wilhelmina and Barney Daly. Rudy was the last surviving sibling of nine brothers and sisters. Rudy is survived by a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Pallbearers will be John Woodward, III, Dr. Davis Woodward, Dr. Doug Woodward, Mark Woodward, Scott Woodward, and Greg Fulton.
