Mr. David Gage Woodruff, 89, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, July 24th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 3:30 PM until service time. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Woodruff was born January 11, 1926, in Winston County, MS. He was a graduate of Louisville High School, where he played on one of the State Championship football teams, and he was a graduate of East Central Community College. David was a retired engineer with Southern Natural Gas Company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Whitmire Woodruff of Louisville; two daughters, Cindy (Randy) Reynolds of Forest, MS, and Jeannie (Wes) Ammon of Starkville, MS; seven grandchildren, David (Nina) Ammon, Justin Ammon, Bret Ammon, Abbie Ammon, Matt (Sami) Reynolds, Nathan Reynolds, and Luke Reynolds; and one great grandchild, Zoey Ammon. Pallbearers are Randy Reynolds, Wes Ammon, Justin Ammon, Matt Reynolds, David Ammon, Bret Ammon, Donnie Woodruff, and Nathan Reynolds. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
