Miss Carmen Elizabeth Smith, 12, died Monday, June 29, 2015, at Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3rd at 6:00 P.M. at Campground United Methodist Church, with Rev. Larry Haggard and Rev. Brian Carruba officiating. Interment will be in Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Carmen was born December 30, 2002, in Flowood, MS. She was entering the 7th grade at Choctaw County Junior High School, where she was a member of the Choctaw County Jr. High Cheerleader squad and the Choctaw County Jr. High Chorus . She was also a member of the Mid-south Little Britches Rodeo Assn., the National Little Britches Rodeo Assn., and the Magnolia Eastern Horse Show Assn. Carmen was also a member of Campground United Methodist Church. She is survived by her parents, Marty and Gina Smith of Louisville; her brother, Tyler Smith of Louisville; grandparents, Marie Butler of Jackson, Elmer Burnett of Louisville, and Joe Smith of Louisville; and her aunts and uncles, Tim & Lisa Smith, Kristie Wells, Jennifer & Butch Burns and their children, Maggie and Wells; Brandi Burnett, and Kirk and Deedra Bookout, and their children, Trent and Bryce. Pallbearers will be Isaac Triplett, Judd Sanborn, Chris Byrd, Tyler Coward, Tony Barrara, and Marcus Barrara. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Blake, Eric Jones, Austin Blaine, Carson Clement, Drew Arney, and Ty Duran.
