Willie Mae Wood

Mrs. Willie Mae Wood, 86, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 27th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Leslie Mills officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Doty Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wood was born October, 3, 1928. She was retired as cafeteria manager for Louisville High School. She was a member of Doty Springs Baptist Church and the Starcraft Camping Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh E. Wood; her parents, Mabel and Jewel Latham McCool; two brothers, James McCool and Gene McCool; and a sister, Dannie Mae Nicolais. She is survived by her son, Alan (Kim) Wood of Selma, TN; four brothers, Paul (Margie) McCool of Waynesboro, MS; Alton (Sue) McCool of McCool, MS, Thomas (Martha) McCool of Ethel, MS, and R. L. McCool of Louisville; one granddaughter, Amanda Grantham, and one great granddaughter, Faith Grantham. Memorials may be made to the Winston County Nursing Home.
