Mary Elise Slater

Mary Elise Slater, infant daughter of Steven and Mary Esther Slater, went from the loving arms of her family into the everlasting arms of the Lord Jesus, who on earth tenderly welcomed little ones unto Himself, declaring that of such is the kingdom of heaven. Elise is also survived by her sister, Anne Rowen Slater, and her two brothers, James Harvey Slater and Simon Caldwell Slater, along with grandparents Ed and Linda Waldron, Nick and Donna Strickland, and Scott and Vicki Slater. She is also survived by great grandmothers, Virginia Waldron and Lullene Slater, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom kept Elise in their prayers and showered their love upon her. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, April 18th, with Rev. Scott Phillips officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Porter Funeral Home. Steven and Mary Esther wish to extend special thanks to the many care providers who have graciously attended to Elise’s needs, including Jennie Caperton, R.N., Dr. Joseph Witty, Dr. Jacob Skiwski, Dr. Sam Suttle, and the various medical staffs and support teams at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. They also wish to thank their friends at First Presbyterian Church and elsewhere who have held Elise in their hearts and provided faithful support through their prayers and countless other expressions of love and concern.
