Mrs. Paulette Sledge McLeod, 64, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Grady Crowell and Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Hill Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Paulette was born March 11, 1950, in Canton, MS. She was a graduate of Canton High School, and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her masters degree in education. She was a retired school teacher, the past state president of The Mississippi National Guard NCO Association Auxiliary, and she was also a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mae Ethel Renfroe Sledge and Wesley Joseph Sledge; a sister, Pat Sledge Prevost; and a brother, Robert Wesley Sledge. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Carr McLeod of Louisville, MS; two daughters, Anice (Scott) Hill of Sturgis, MS and Mary (Robert) Harrison of Crosby, TX; one son, Lee Frederick of Madison, MS; one sister, Linda Jackson of Easley, SC; two brothers, Jimmy Sledge of Carthage, MS and Tony Sledge of Tupelo, MS; and five grandchildren, Nicole Davis, John Michael Hill, Tyler Frederick, Kaleigh Frederick, and Garrett Harrison. Pallbearers will be Joe Fleming, John Michael Hill, Lee Boydstun, Robert Harrison, Tim Clark, A.J. Clark, Tyler Frederick, and J.J. Hall.
