Mrs. Mary Louise Miles Carter, 89, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 20th, at Flower Ridge United Methodist Church, with Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Flower Ridge United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Flower Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Carter was born June 25, 1925, in Winston County, MS, to Genie and Emmet Miles. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Flower Ridge United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Carter, Sr.; a great grandchild, Jackson Wright Tanner; and her brothers and sisters, Lester Alvin Miles, Leonard Roger Miles, Loretta Miles King Savage, Lucian Dee Miles, and Leslie Miles. She is survived by her son, Charles H. (Kristi) Carter, Jr. of Louisville; her daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Carter Norland of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, Stephanie Tanner, Brian (Lauren) Tanner, Bradley (Lori) Tanner, Stephanie (Jay) Joyner, Chris Eaves, and Keith (Mary) Norland; and twelve great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Bradley Tanner, Clarence Goodin, Barry Vowell, Denny Miles, Les Miles, and Bill King. Memorials may be made to Flower Ridge Cemetery Fund, or the charity of your choice.
