Mrs. Jane Boren Chambers (nee’ Jane Fair Boren), died Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Hayesville, NC. She was born on February 5, 1937, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, the daughter of Elizabeth Fair and Allen Boren. Jane graduated from Louisville High School and from Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia. She was charming, gracious, and a friend to all. She married a Naval Aviator and lived all over the world, touching lives everywhere she called home. She was the best mother one could have, and we will miss her dearly. Jane is survived by three children, Elizabeth Fair (Max) Ray of Westwood Hills, KS, James Boren (Katherine) Chambers of St. Johns, FL, Richard Kenner Chambers, Jr. of Matthews, NC, and their father, Rear Admiral Richard Kenner Chambers, Sr.; sisters, Julia Boren Baker (Dr. William C. Baker) of Oxford, MS, and Sara Burney Mize of Oxford, MS; two brothers, Fred Forrester Mitchell, Jr. and Thomas Mitchell, both of Louisville; and three grandchildren, James Boren Chambers, Jr., Katherine Anne Chambers, and Elizabeth Lang Chambers. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 22nd, at Masonic Cemetery in Louisville, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Porter Funeral Home. Jane will be buried beside her father in Masonic Cemetery in Louisville.
