Mr. Charles Sidney Thomas, 73, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 23rd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Bowie officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Thomas was born January 15, 1941, in Madden, MS. He was self-employed in the real estate business in Louisville, and a member of First Baptist Church. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, was a former Shriner and Mason, and also was a former member of Louisville Business Men’s Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine Finley Thomas and Robert Oren Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Judy Dowdle Thomas; his son, Dow (Shelley) Thomas, grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Fin Thomas, all of Louisville, MS; and his sister, Dorothy Thomas of Philadelphia, MS. Pallbearers will be Gene Allen, Pat Autry, Jimmy Edwards, Doug Hudspeth, David Wilson, and Randy Toms. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie McMillin, David Boydstun, Steve Sinclair, Bill Fryery, Joel O’Briant, Farrell Rigby, Lee Mark Taylor, Walter Pitt, Fred Nabers, members of David Stewart’s Sunday School Class, and Philadelphia High School Class of 1959.
