Joyce Metts Sullivan

Mrs. Joyce Metts Sullivan, 85, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at her home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 26th, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Brett Golson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12 noon until service time at First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sullivan was born March 16, 1929, in Louisville, Mississippi. She was a 1945 graduate of Louisville High School, and worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Doctors Pharmacy and Charley McCool Pharmacy. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she and her husband worked in the nursery for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Sullivan; her parents, Florence Emma and Garland Metts; and a brother, William Metts. She is survived by daughter, Beverly (Richard) Ballard of Louisville; two sisters, Mitzie Taylor and Melba Pearson, both of Louisville; four grandchildren, Will (Jamie) Ballard, Dane (Keli) Ballard, Luke Ballard, and Elisabeth (Tyler) Golson; and one great grandson, Sutton Dane Ballard.
