Paul West

Mr. Paul F. West, 81, died Thursday, March 13, 2013, at his home in Winston County.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 16th, at Good Hope Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Gross and Rev. Larry Ferris officiating.   Interment will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. West was born March 11, 1933, in George County, MS. He was a retired mechanic with Delta Brick Company in Macon, MS, and was a former Chevron Service Station owner. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie West; his parents,Otilia and Arthur West; a son, Jeffrey Donald Hemphill; and a brother, Lee West. He is survived by two daughters, Paula McCluskey of Ripley, MS; and Cathy Ferris of Monroe, LA; six sons, Randy Hemphill, Danny Hemphill, John Hemphill, and David Hemphill, all of Louisville, MS, James Hemphill of West Point, MS, and Eugene Hemphill of Arizona; 24 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Avis Cumbest of Lucedale, MS, and Mary Scarbrough of Moss Point, MS. Memorials may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church.
